To keep the scorers happy....

In my confused state (eg leaving home initially with two left mitts), there was little hope of me reaching the start on time so I opted for the Ashford route to Jenners Maidenhead arriving ahead of the bunch which came via Staines. Already seated were some who'd arrived a week early after an unfortunate problem with the new website!

With 25+ miles in many legs, it was no surprise that our restart was delayed until 1130. We returned to the bridge then took the first left, Mill Lane currently a "building site" and climbed past Taplow. Before Cliveden we veered eastwards on lanes and after a little more than five miles reached the lunch stop at the Blackwood Arms Littleworth Common. It was warm enough for an alfresco lunch.

Nul point for the official teastop so we headed for Vermeulens and after a leisurely stop our respective homes. Twice we encountered Roger (and the KCC?), firstly in Burnham Beeches and secondly in Stanwell Moor as we exited Vermeulens. About 55 miles door to door.
