Scam email

Dear All,

A cautionary word.

Today I received an email purporting to be from one of our former members, saying ’hi’ and inviting me to click on a link.

This member’s name is Harold Fifield. Some of you may remember him.

I mention this only because he died several years ago.

Beware!

Jeff

You're not alone. I frequently receive emails from Simon Legg and Brian Greenwood (amongst others) presumably taken from a copy of their contacts list.

Names are real, the rest is faked usually a shortened email address which is where this story ends. Clipping such a link may well lead you to somewhere you didn't want to go!

I mark them as junk and delete them in the hope that one day web providers will significantly improve their filtering software.
